Patrick scoffed that I haven’t posted since last month, so here at last is the first post of Septembah.
We both got new glasses this week. Looky!
We had a nice Labor Day weekend at home. It was so pretty outside that as soon as we were up on Saturday we took Lola for a walk and spent the rest of the day in the yard. Patrick sawed up a limb that had fallen from our walnut tree during last week’s storm. He also got the truck cleaned up and ready to sell and listed it on Craigslist. I puttered around in the garden, pounding in some new edging around our flower bed and putting ivy in our hanging baskets.
That evening we had a nice dinner at Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro with our friends the L’s. (We tried to go to P.F. Chang’s but they were on a 2 hour wait. For heaven’s sake, who waits that long to eat?!)
Yesterday Patrick worked on the Porsche for a bit and then got sucked into King Solomon’s Mines. I went to do some shopping and came back with 4GB thumb drives for each of us. (I have been flirting with disaster for ages by not backing up any of my files, so I hope this will be the beginning of better habits for me.) Best Buy had them for cheapity-cheap — 4GB for $39.99!
Today Patrick is headed to Raleigh to have lunch with an old buddy from the NG. I’m thinking of creative ways to avoid finishing an article.
As if that weren’t enough excitement for one post, here’s a photo from a recent walk with Lola. More on Flickr!
